PROGRAM FOR STRENGTHENING THE NORTHERN WATER TRANSFER INFRASTRUCTURE FOR THE REGIONS OF GREATER TUNIS, CAP BON, SAHEL AND SFAX STUDY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL MANAGEMENT FRAMEWORK

Project description:

The services requested relate to the realization of the study of elaboration of the Framework of Environmental and Social Management of the program of reinforcement of the infrastructures of transfer of the Waters of the North for the regions of the Big Tunis, Cap Bon, Sahel and Sfax.
This Program provides for the strengthening of the existing transfer of Northern Waters between Douar El Bey, Belli, the Sahel and Sfax, the creation of two (02) reserves (Saida and Kalâa Kebira reservoirs) and two (02) treatment stations in Bejaoua for Greater Tunis and the Sahel.
The aim of the Programme is to secure the drinking water supply in the regions of Greater Tunis, Cap-Bon, the Sahel and Sfax, and to improve the quality of drinking water in these regions through integrated resource management.

Description of services actually rendered:

Mission I: Environmental and social assessment and description of the procedures applicable to the Program

Analysis of the risks of dam failure in the Saïda and Kalâa Kebira reservoirs.

Mission II: Development of a Resettlement Policy Framework.

Formulation of the Stakeholder Engagement Plan

Implementation and Monitoring of the CGES.
