The geographical scope of the study is that of the District of Abidjan extended to the 3 peripheral municipalities Grand Bassam, Sikensi and Dabou, and including the villages of the District which are currently excluded from the concessions of the two operators ECOTI SA (Tunisian) in charge of 5 municipalities and ECO- EBURNIE (Portuguese) in charge of 8 municipalities.
It is noted by the way the renewed confidence of the Ivorian authorities in the know-how of the experts and specialists of the two countries in the management of solid household and similar waste (SHSW).
The course of the study is divided into 4 missions:
In particular, Mission 1 includes a campaign to characterize household and similar waste in the 3 peripheral localities, a survey which was carried out in July 2022 in consultation with the municipalities and local operators (collectors and pre-collectors).
