JUNE 2022 - EGYPT - BID ANNUAL MEETINGS: INVITED CONCEPT
The Islamic Development Bank GroupIDBheld its 2022 Annual Meetings in Sharm Al-Sheikh, from June 1er to 4, 2022, under the theme “Beyond Recovery: Resilience and Sustainability”. The meetings were held this year in the context of major economic and geopolitical developments characterized by the decline of the Covid-19 pandemic and the renewed hope for a recovery of the world economy but in the context of the recent Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Ministers of Economy, Planning and Finance of the 57 member countries of the IDB participated in these meetings. Representatives of international and regional financial institutions, as well as representatives of Islamic banks, national development finance institutions and trade unions also participated.
The meetings represent an opportunity to study and explore ways to further consolidate economic relations among IDB member countries. In addition, they offer member countries the opportunity to maximize cooperation with participating financing institutions. This year's meetings had also seen, for the first time, the holding of the IDB Group's Private Sector Forum over four days, where representatives from large corporations and the business community had particpated.
In addition to the meetings of the authorities of the bank and its specialized subsidiaries, the event is always an opportunity to hold seminars and thematic meetings dedicated to development issues in the 57 countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC ). This year was under the sign of resilience and sustainable development, a central post-Covid theme.
CONCEPT y a été invitée en tant qu’observateur. Mr le Président-Directeur Général de CONCEPT a pris part à un certain nombre de ces réunions centrées sur l’adaptation au changement climatique, ses interventions étant étayées par des exemples concrets tirés de l’expérience de CONCEPT, durant plus de vingt années dans les pays africains. En outre, il a pu tenir des réunions de travail avec de nombreux responsables de la BIsD ,ainsi qu’avec des confrères Ingénieurs-conseils des pays membres de l’OCI, réunions au cours desquelles ont été passées en revue les opportunités de coopération dans les projets de développement des infrastructures.
