As part of the Conakry Sanitation Project (PAC),a CONCEPT engineer CONCEPT went to Conakry in June 2022 to participate in the examination of candidatures relating to the prequalification file for the award of contracts for rainwater drainage works in the communes of Matoto and Ratoma, for which the notice of prequalification was launched on 28 February 2022 by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, represented by the National Agency for Sanitation and Public Health (NASPH).
The Republic of Guinea has obtained financing from the Islamic Development BankBIsDto finance the Conakry Sanitation Project (CSP). The CSP concerns three interdependent components: Rainwater drainage, Solid waste management and Faecal sludge treatment. It aims a sustainable sanitation of the two municipalities of Ratoma and Matoto, the widest and most populated in Greater Conakry.
The rainwater drainage works, the largest component in terms of share of the global budget, will be entrusted to companies after a pre-qualification procedure and then a request for proposals. After the manifestation of interest launched last March, CONCEPT was called to proceed to the examination of the expression of interest documents. Sixteen international companies or groups of companies had submitted their candidatures for the project. The CONCEPT engineer sent for the occasion animated for a two weeks the work of the examination commission composed of representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, of the Management Unit of the PAC and of the National Agency for Sanitation and Public Health (NASPH).
The tasks performed by the CONCEPT engineer consisted of developing a methodology for the evaluation of the candidatures, distributing the tasks of this evaluation among the members of the commission, coordinating it and finally synthesizing it in the form of an evaluation report.
