The PRODEFIL (Agro-pastoral development project and associated sectors) in the Governorate of Medenine, is a local and inclusive community development project, focused on the value chains of promising sectors, particularly the sheep, goat and camel meat sectors, the integration of pastoral systems and agricultural products and services. The overall objective of the project is "to improve the living conditions of the vulnerable rural population and to create new employment opportunities through the strengthening of the resilience of agropastoral production systems and the development of associated sectors".
PRODEFIL operates in a geographical area consisting of the territories of the Delegations of Ben Guerdane, Beni Khedache and Sidi Makhlouf of the Governorate of Medenine. These territories include pastoral and agricultural areas.
The technical assistance mission (lot 1) will last 3 years, with the participation of 2 long-term experts based at the PRODEFIL offices and short-term experts, who will intervene at the request of the project manager.
The specific objective is to provide technical assistance to the Project Management Unit (PMU) in order to achieve the objectives of PRODEFIL and to make public and private actors capable of managing and enhancing the agropastoral land and value chains in a sustainable manner.
